With your donation, we are able to provide scholarships and funding for resources for young adults and  facilitate community outreach with new and evolving drug and mental health education.

In the past three years, SCF has delivered fentanyl awareness presentations to most middle and high schools in Siskiyou County, and shared resources with parents and teachers on how to talk about the dangers of fentanyl. In an effort to raise awareness of the realities of the new drug landscape, SCF has funded national research and contributed over $80,000 to partner organizations focused on fentanyl awareness. In addition, SCF supports young adults by helping them move forward and find their path. We are proud of our scholoarships program that have awarded over $17,000. In the Fall of 2024, we are awarding $20,000 more.

Education alone doesn't reduce drug misuse, CULTURE can also reduce misuse. Let's create a culture that is supportive for our kids and families!

Courtney Chase

Phone: 530-925-2502

I am Courtney Chase, Sam's mom. Sam and I were always close. Our bond ran deep in many ways... our highly sensitive and curious personalities, our struggles with things in life that seemed easy to others, our caring for the younger three, running, etc.

I love sharing Sam's story about his love for us and others, his hilarious and child like sense of humor, his passions,  insecurities, and his desire to help people in this confusing world.

I am a Life Coach, Grief Coach, Trauma Informed Breathwork Facilitator, among other things.

I am here to listen, guide, coach, and find resources for you or your loved one.

Hello my name is Carter Chase and I am Sam’s sister. Sam and I were really close and leaned on each other at different times. Losing Sam has built me into the person I am today. He guides me daily by helping me expand my passion of helping others. If you met Sam you'd immediately want to smile. He was so good at making everyone feel good about themselves. He would want you to believe in yourself and because of that, he inspires me to help others believe in themselves. Having him as my inspiration has pushed me to open my own business that I will soon be sharing with the world.

I am here to support you, the same way Sam and I always supported each other. My family means everything to me and I would love to be a sister to anyone I can be.

Ashley Cain

I am a Siskiyou county native, who loves giving back to the community that raised me. I got to know Sam during our shared summer job many years ago, which was filled with fun, laughter, and the occasional wrangling of bats in old Victorian homes. I have also been fortunate enough to see the large impact and successes of the Chase family since day one, when they first launched the Sam Chase Foundation. I am grateful and humbled to be a part of it all, and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Adam and Karin Crisci

We are natives to Mt Shasta and enjoy everything the backyard of our town has to offer. We have been involved in different groups and organizations in our community as we raised our son.

We met Sam and his wonderful family when our son started dating Sam’s sister Carter in 2017.

We became involved in the Sam Chase Foundation because of our love for the Chase Family and what their foundation is trying to accomplish. We have seen firsthand what this deadly epidemic can do to people we love, their families, and our community. We hope to help in some way to prevent more families from going through this.

Casey Clure

My name is Casey Clure and I’m a Mt. Shasta native. My daughter grew up with Sam and the Chases have become like family over the years. Watching the Chases build the SCF, seeing how they are supporting youth, having been a scholarship evaluator, and part of the mile 27 fundraiser has created the desire to be more involved. My professional experience is in  wealth management and business strategy.  I have a bachelor’s degree in business, a masters degree in counseling, and a Certified Financial Planner designation.  I have served on several non-profit boards - most recently as president of the Board of Directors of Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce. I’m excited to be a part of this team!
